EXERCISE 8b: Standard Practice associated with CDIs in your area
Once you determine that it would be beneficial to team with a CDI for an assignment, it is unfortunately not always easy to make that happen. Sometimes there are no CDIs in the area.
Sometimes, courts, hospitals or agencies are still not familiar with the concept. And there also might be resistance when the hiring body determines that they will have to pay for an “extra” interpreter. It’s a good idea to prepare in advance, a clear explanation of why you think a CDI is necessary for the assignment.
In this exercise, you will examine your knowledge around the use of CDIs in your area.
